Reed diffusers are one of the easiest ways to keep your home smelling fresh and inviting-without the need for flames, plug ins or constant attention.

But not every scent works well in every room, the key is choosing fragrances that match the mood, purpose and atmosphere of each space

I've created a room by room guide to picking the perfect reed diffuser for your home.

Entrance- Hallway

First impressions - Your hallway sets the tone for the entire home, so you want to go with inviting scents that feel instantly welcoming

Tip - For smaller hallways go for subtle, not overwhelming fragrances

Placement - Place diffuser where traffic is walking past (on a console table) this will lift the fragrance in the air

Recommended scents-

Citrus/zesty/fresh - Gives a welcome in smell that is bright & clean

Woody/amber/spicy - Great for larger hallways and cooler months(Autumn/winter)

Cosy, rich and luxurious

Living room - Warm & welcoming

Your living space is the heart of your home, a place where you gather with the family & entertain guests. Chose fragrances that are both inviting and welcoming

Tip- Go for medium strength diffusers here, since the living room is usually a larger, more open space, pair woody scents with leather textiles & log fires.

Placement- Where they is high traffic-a table by the sofa, or a sideboard behind the sitting area.

Kitchen - Fresh & clean

The kitchen benefits from scents that cut through cooking odours without overpowering your food

Crisp & zesty work best here

Tip- Place your diffuser away from the stove area to avoid mixing aromas with meals

Bedroom- Calm & restful

A reed diffuser in the bedroom should help you unwind, promote relaxation and set the mood for restful sleep Think soft, soothing fragrances

Cashmere & Musk

Bathroom/Cloakroom - Crisp & Invigorating

Bathrooms benefit from scents that feel clean, refreshing and like spa-like. A diffuser here can help mask odours and create a calming retreat.

Tip - Flip the reeds more often in this high-moisture room to keep the fragrance more noticeable.

Home office-Focus & Energy

If you're working from home, your office diffuser should help you stay sharp and productive, whilst creating that strong & sophisticated atmosphere

Reed Diffusers aren't one size fits all, by matching scents to the mood, and function of each room, you can create a home that not only looks beautiful but smells incredible too

Always keep diffusers away from Children & Pets
